The Social Innovation Sandbox is an exciting space for exploring, discovering, and developing a new generation of leaders for Africa, passionate about social innovation and social impact in a variety of sectors such as urban farming, child safety, water and sanitation, urban waste management, tech for learning, tech for development, and environment among others. The space is open to under graduate students of all levels and institutes at Tangaza University College, as well as recent alumni.
The Sandbox welcomed the first Cohort of students in February 2022. The Sandbox has so far brought together like-minded students keen on connecting, learning and acting for social impact. Through innovative ideas and initiatives, these students have in groups and individually been working to address pressing human challenges creatively and sustainably.
The SIS is a three phase journey where you learn concepts and hear stories from practicing social entrepreneurs; implementing a group social impact project with your cohort members and finally come up with an individual idea of change making and receive support to develop, pilot and implement it.
This space will nurture your creative problem solving skills; provide a platform to safely try out ideas and solutions while connecting you with relevant experts and networks. Social Innovation Sandbox is the kind of space you need for your concrete step as an impactful innovator!
