Join us on September 5th and 6th, 2023, at the Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa for the DRC Social
Innovation Summit.
Tuesday 05 – Wednesday 06 September, 2023
This year's theme is focused on Shifting Economic Models, Strengthening Ecosystems and Advancing Indigenous Social Enterprises
Highlight the potential of indigenous enterprises in contributing to the economy and social progress through job creation and economic growth.
Strengthen and expand the social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Congo and Africa.
To build coalitions and networks for indigenous social business development.
The dominant economic model in Africa is seen as ineffective in transforming the continent and addressing the challenges faced by its people. It contributes to inequality, exclusion, and poverty, hindering the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. To overcome these issues, there is a need for a paradigm shift towards homegrown solutions and local ownership. Africans are encouraged to think creatively and build an authentic development model based on their values. Ecosystem building in Africa is still in its early stages due to factors such as political instability, weak infrastructure, and limited access to capital. To support indigenous enterprises and foster their growth, an enabling environment is crucial. This includes providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, and networks as catalysts for success. Collaboration and coordination among stakeholders are essential in addressing the emerging needs and challenges of ecosystem building.
The DRC Social Innovation Summit is a partnership initiative organized by AgroMwinda Leadership Academy and the Institute for Social Transformation at Tangaza University College. The summit aims to foster collaboration, research, capacity building, networking, and investment in the social innovation sector in the DRC and Africa as a whole.
We believe that a seed can grow into a piece of the sky and we want to create a dynamic national and regional plateform for increased collaboration across sectors and challenge each of our network member to take action towards reaching the global Sustainable Dévelopment Goals and creating a better future for all.
